A planning application for the 40,000 sqm redevelopment of the Perfume Factory site in North Acton is under preparation, managed by Voreda. Imperial College purchased the 1.72 acres brownfield site earlier in 2016. Voreda were then appointed as Development Managers to select a suitable design team and then manage the design and planning process to deliver a mixed use campus comprising 750 student accommodation units in an iconic 37 storey tower, alongside a separate block of 85 PRS and College Key Worker apartments and 4,000 sqm of office space designed to accommodate College technology partners, all centred around an open campus square. The scheme is the next stage of Imperial’s West London strategy to support its academic and commercial translation operations at the 25 acre White City Campus. The College Key Worker model, first introduced by Voreda on the White City Campus project, is an innovative approach to providing flexible apartments for London Key Workers that has been extremely positively received by both the GLA, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and Ealing Borough Council.
